Cara Mullen ~ Church Administrator
My husband Harold and I have been married for 30 years and have three wonderful children that we love spending time with. Our son Elliott is a recent graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in communications and a minor in history. His experience at Tarleton was so rewarding that his twin sisters, Molly and Mallory are also attending Tarleton and enjoying it very much. Both of our daughters are working on their education degrees and hope to be teachers and coaches when they graduate.
I was born and raised in the Dallas area and lived there until our family moved to Dripping Springs in 1995. We love the hill country and feel blessed to be here. Prior to moving to Drippin’ I was a high school business teacher for 10 years. In 1997 I went to work for DSUMC as a part time secretary. In 1999 I accepted the position that I currently enjoy as Church Administrator. Working for the church has been a real blessing for me and has helped me answer my call to ministry by using the skills and talents that the Lord has blessed upon me.
Vicki Rector ~ Church Secretary
I have been attending DSUMC since September of 2001. My husband Steve, stepson Steven and I moved to Dripping Springs in 1996 from the Dallas area. We love the Hill Country and all of it's outdoor activities. My favorite way to pass the time, is in my garden. I have a a quote at the entrance of our garden that says, "To plant a garden is to have hope, and believe in the future".....I Love being part of the body of Christ
Yvette Caouette ~ Church Secretary
My husband and I have lived in Drippin’ about 18 years and have loved the strong sense of community and small town feel.
Barbara McArthur ~ Director of Adult Education
I received my call to ministry at the age of 17….to do the Lord’s work in Christian Education. I have continuously been involved in this in a variety of roles, working with children, youth and adults. I started the After School Kare program here in 1989. I’ve been on staff twice at this church. My current role as Adult Discipleship Co-ordinator is to facilitate and grow classes and ministries that help adults start or continue their journey as disciples. My favorite “job” is to lead any group in the study of God’s word. I always learn something! These other people keep my life full of fun: my husband Dave, five children, their spouses, ten grand-children and four great-grandchildren. I inherited some of these by marriage and love spending time with all of them when we get together. You probably guessed that church and family are my life!
Marcella Fodor ~ Nursery Director
Having worked in Childcare for over 45 years, and watching "My Kids" grow up and raise their own families, I have been overjoyed with their accomplishments even though they were not my own biological children. I also raised 5 children of my own and have 10 beautiful grandchildren and 3 beautiful great grandchildren.
I have enjoyed teaching Child Care at University level and working in Child Care Facilities across the Nation for all these years, but now in my "Retirement Years", I can devote more of my time to serving My Lord, the community, and playing with the children, including my grandchildren here in Texas. In my spare time I also enjoy sewing, applique, and Quilting.
My husband and I moved to Dripping Springs two years ago and have found it to be a warm community with DSUMC being the focal point by which we have grasped fellowship and spiritual growth. I have been on staff for 16 months and enjoy sharing opportunities in Christ.
Shana Fowler ~ Director of Children's Ministries
My name is Shana Fowler and I have been the Director of Children's Ministries for 2 1/2 years.
I enjoy everything about my job and pray that the programs we have at DSUMC have helped children build a spiritual foundation for Jesus Christ that will last their entire lives.
I have lived with my husband, Kevin and two children, Jackson and Grace, in Dripping Springs since 2002.
I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin where I majored in English.
(Hook 'em!!)
I also serve on my son's football association board, coach my daughter's cheerleading squad and volunteer at their elementary school. In my spare time I love to watch all types of movies, read, dance and watch the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns!! I have been blessed with a wonderful family that supports me 100%!
Director of Children's Weekday Ministry
I love the fact that I get to come to DSUMC everyday and call it work. How many jobs are out there where you start your workday with devotion and prayer? It really is a wonderful place to be.
My husband, John, and I have three sons, John Paul, Dale and Jamey. We are always on the move with boy scouts, baseball, football, orchestra, working on old cars and cheering for the Longhorns! John and I both graduated from UT and have an extensive collection of burnt orange fan gear.
We have enjoyed being part of the DSUMC family for 14 wonderful years and look forward to worshipping and volunteering for many more alongside the great folks of Dripping Springs.
Lysbeth Smith
Assistant Director of Children's Weekday Ministries
I have worked at our church since 1998. I started working in our church nursery in high school and served as the Assistant Director of our Children’s Weekday Ministries since 2007. I love working with all ages and being the Assistant Director allows me to work with the youngest and the oldest. I enjoy many things, including taking my daughter Kairi for a window-shopping walk in the mall and weight-lifting, but my most favorite is just spending time with my baby and husband. I have lived in the same area since I was 6 months old and went to all 12 grades (plus Kindergarten) here in Dripping Springs.
