Transformed and Renewed

This past Sunday we finished up our sermon series, What We Believe, examining the beliefs of the Global Methodist Church. This Sunday we will be looking at one of the most interesting passages in the gospels; the Transfiguration of Jesus.

The famous painter, Raphael, captures the essence of the Transfiguration in his painting of the same name. In his depiction, we see not only the event itself, but also the events immediately following Jesus’ amazing transformation. As we gaze upon this painting, the artist seems to capture so well the central truth of this event. Jesus is pulling back the curtain and revealing to Peter, James, and John the magnificent nature of his identity. This week we will be looking at the ways in which Christ’s identity shapes our identity and determines, in many ways, our destiny.

Grace & Peace,

Rev. Adam Thornton
