The Administrative Council serves as a “Big-Picture” body that coordinates implementation of ministries that advance the mission of Dripping Springs United Methodist Church, and provides leadership and management for the ministries of the church.

ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL CHAIR, VICKI KURHAJEC 
 
The Administrative Council Chair leads all Administrative Council meetings and provides leadership assistance to the council and church staff in achieving the overall goals of the church.  The Council Chair also provides guidance, encouragement and mentoring to the individual Council Committee Stewards to assist them in achieving their individual committee goals. BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHAIRMAN, SUSAN WERNLI
 
The Board of Trustees is the legal entity of the church. The Board is composed of 9 individuals serving staggered 3-year terms. The Board has the supervision, oversight, and care of all real property and equipment owned by the church including insuring against risks and developing appropriate risk management policies.  The Board receives and administers all gifts made to the church and ensures all trust funds are invested properly. The Board is responsible (in conjunction with the pastor) for all use of the church buildings, grounds and equipment. The Board prepares and submits their annual budget requests to the Committee on Finance.  The Board is accountable to the Charge Conference and the Church Council. 

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN, BETTY BENDALL

United Methodist Women is a group of women who work together with the purpose of helping women and children in our local community and around the world.  UMW participate in fundraisers in order to contribute to various missions.  Members grow closer together by studying, sewing projects, cooking, and being in fellowship with one another.  Any woman is encouraged and invited to participate.  Morning meetings are 9:30am on the first Monday of each month in the Fellowship Hall; evening meetings are at 6:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month in Room 108. HOSPITALITY, JOANNE CHUPIK

The Hospitality Committee supports the ill, hurting, and grieving church family members offering physical and emotional support. Meals are provided to sustain the individuals and families during these challenging times.  Our hope is that our service will lend a loving hand to show our love and concern reflecting God’s love for them. MISSIONS, JIM STREET

The “Missions” efforts of DSUMC involve those who are doing the “hands-on” mission and outreach work outside the walls of the church.  Our congregation gets their hands dirty on a regular basis, by our involvement locally, state-wide, nationally and internationally through community work projects, prison ministry, mission trips, disaster response to name a few.  We are always looking for fresh faces and fresh ideas.  The Mission Team meets monthly on the 4th Wednesday at 6:30 pm – Come join us and get involved! HISPANIC OUTREACH MINISTRY, MARIA SHARP

Answering the mandate of the Great Commission, the Hands & Feet of Christ Hispanic Outreach (Manos y Pies de Cristo) has taken the mission to enrich the divine belief of God Father, God Son, and God Holy Spirit among the Hispanic community of Dripping Springs and surrounding areas.  We do so by involving the Hispanic community via Bilingual Services, Bible Classes, and Community Events throughout the year. NURTURING, SHEILA LAMB

The Nurturing Ministry is there to come along beside you to provide support and encouragement during stressful and overwhelming times in life.  Our current ministries provide support to college students, widows, soldiers, hospital patients, new moms, and shut-ins. STEWARDSHIP, ANDREW BROWN

The goal of Stewardship is to motivate all to actively join with fellow Christians at
DSUMC in supporting our Mission and Ministries that enable all to come, commit and
connect to Jesus Christ. We give because, with his grace and covenant, Christ gave to
us.We seek all to be active participants in this Fellowship of Christ and move from “going to
church” to “being the Church”. We believe we are all God’s treasures and promise to be

WORSHIP, PATTY WRIGHT

The Worship Committee is there to support the Pastors to help create an environment where ALL people can come and hear and learn the Word of God and experience a personal connection with Christ.  The committee schedules various opportunities to serve within the sanctuary.  The Ushers/Greeters are there to welcome and assist our guests and members.  The Acolytes are children from grades 2 – 6 who bring the “Light of Christ” into the sanctuary by lighting the altar candles.  The Communion Stewards have the pleasure and honor of assisting with and serving the “Bread of Life” to those desiring a closer
relationship with Christ.  The Liturgists has the distinct privilege of proclaiming God’s word through reading the scripture during worship service. 
 

Another opportunity is to serve in the Welcome Center which is a great place to meet guests and members and provide information about opportunities at DSUMC.  There are many opportunities to be a servant for Christ at DSUMC.  After prayerful consideration if you feel called to serve in any of these ways please let me know.  You will be blessed!! UNITED METHODIST MEN, ROSS VAN BURKLEO
The mission of the United Methodist Men is helping men grow in Christ so others may know Christ. It is open to all the men of the church and all men’s activities fall under this umbrella. One of the largest annual events the UMM supports is the Wild Game Dinner. This is a great place for men in the church to get to know each other through monthly Saturday morning breakfasts and additional church projects and events. Contact Ross here.
STAFF PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE (SPRC) – SHAWN TAYLOR
The Staff Parish Relations Committee builds a strong positive relationship between staff and congregation so that the congregation makes disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This committee works with the lead pastor and other staff to fulfill legal and ethical responsibilities related to staff. It meets regularly as staff positions become available or new staff positions are created and as church/staff issues arise. Contact Shawn here.
LAY LEADERSHIP – DEBBIE HIGGS
The Lay Leadership Committee primarily reports to the Pastors and Administrative Council regarding needs identified by church members for our growing church and community. The Lay Leadership committee also consists of a nominating committee that nominates all members for appointment to the Administrative Council. Contact Debbie here.
RHONDA KRAMER – FINANCE
The Finance committee is responsible for managing the finances of the church and preparing and monitoring the yearly church budget. The Finance Committee meets every third Sunday prior to the Administrative Council meeting.
PRAYER – AMY MITCHART
The Prayer team’s purpose is to make prayer an active component of our church members’ lives by providing opportunities for prayer, the prayer garden, prayer request cards, etc. All are welcome to be a part of this team!
EVANGELISM – CINDY WILSON
The Evangelism Committee seeks to provide opportunities for people in our church and in our community to be introduced to Jesus Christ through fellowship activities and personal outreach. The Evangelism Committee is also in charge of the Connect Team which assists members and visitors in getting connected with the programs and ministries of our church. It also will be providing assistance to church members and visitors through the Welcome Center. This is a committee that needs help once a month from church members and is a great place to connect and become involved.
DISCIPLESHIP – MILES GILLIAM
This committee assists church members in fulfilling their membership vows of prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness by providing bible study opportunities so our members can learn about Christ and grow in Him.
