Eucharistic Ministry- Extending the Table
What if our church sanctuary extended past the last pew, out the door and into the hill country? What if the Lord’s Table extended into the hospitals, nursing homes, and facilities where our brother and sisters in Christ find themselves – the “unwillingly absent”- separated from Sunday service and Holy Communion? What if each Sunday instead of looking around to see who we might recognize, we spent a few moments asking “who is missing”?
A Eucharistic Ministry was formed in April 2009 to try and answer those questions. On the first Sunday of every month we take Holy Communion to senior residents and guests at the Stonebridge and Hill Country Care facilities. The services are brief, about 25 minutes, and we spend time in song, worship and praise with those who might not otherwise feel connected to the Body of Christ.  This is a laity-based ministry of volunteers and the only qualification is a servants heart and about a half-hour a month of your time.
Please prayerfully consider joining us each month and bringing some joy and smiles to those who unable to join us. Services are the first Sunday of each month- 11 am at Hill Country Care and 3 pm at Stonebridge.

 Nursing Home Ministry

Our next visit to the Hill Country Nursing Home is scheduled for January 23rd, 2011.  This is a wonderful way to give back to our seniors that are shut in and unable to join us at church.  We meet at the nursing home at 2:30 PM on the 4th Sunday of every other month.  That location is on Hwy. 290 west across from the Security State Bank.  Together we sing, worship and pray with our seniors.  I'm not sure who receives more, us or them.  If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Destiny Hooks at destinyhooks@sbcglobal.net.
