Stephen Ministries

Stephen Ministers are members of DSUMC who go through 50 hours of care-giving training and then work with supporting our pastors in providing emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. Barnabas Ministry (College Student Ministry)

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. For more information contact Linda Snow




AA and Al-Anon

Support for individuals and families of individuals dealing with a drinking problem. There are many different meetings throughout the week in the Narthex building (the mobile home looking building next to the main sanctuary).





Low Cost Counseling


DSUMC has a counselor available for those who need a lower cost option for counseling.  This is specifically Christian counseling with an experienced counselor who can deal with many areas.  Contact the church office 512-894-7123 for more information

Card Writing Ministry

This is a simple and powerful way to offer words of hope and support to those who need an extra boost. Simply pick up a card and a name/address from the table in the foyer on the main campus. Write an encouraging note and mail to the address listed. This is a simple way to encourage those in our congregation that need to hear a positive word.
